The RTS Tactical SPK1 Soft Armor Panel is purpose-built for correctional officers and high-risk transport teams who face the threat of improvised spike and edged weapon attacks. Certified to NIJ 0115.00 Spike Level 1, the SPK1 delivers lightweight, flexible protection against real-world threats — including shanks, spikes, and handmade stabbing tools.

Engineered using ultra-durable 300D DuPont fibers, the SPK1 panel delivers zero penetrations at both E1 (24 joules) and E2 (36 joules) energy levels.     What is the difference between SPK1 and SPK2?

    SPK1 is certified to NIJ 0115.00 Spike Level 1, designed to stop spike threats up to 36 joules. SPK2 is certified to Spike Level 2, providing protection up to 50 joules. SPK2 offers higher energy resistance for more aggressive attacks or higher-risk environments.

    Is this armor bulletproof?

    No. SPK1 and SPK2 are not ballistic armor. They are spike-resistant panels, purpose-built to stop edged threats like spikes and shanks, commonly found in correctional facilities.

    Are SPK panels certified by the NIJ?

    Yes. Both SPK1 and SPK2 are tested and certified by the NIJ to Standard 0115.00, the official U.S. standard for spike protection.

    Can these panels stop multiple strikes?

    Yes. Both SPK1 and SPK2 are multi-hit capable and certified to withstand repeated spike impacts with zero penetrations at both tested energy levels (E1 and E2).
